Yoga Nidra or “Yogic Sleep” is a state of deep relaxation with inner awareness. It draws upon the ancient practice of pratyahara – withdrawal of the senses – in which the state of relaxation is reached by turning inwards, away from outer experiences.
This practice was developed thousands of years ago as a means to attain the deepest state of inner peace and relaxation during meditation.
The entire practice is a guided meditation journey using concentration techniques (dharana), sensory withdrawal (pratyahara), and is practiced entirely in Savasana. It is said that 1 hour of Yoga Nidra is equivalent to 4 hours of conventional sleep.
This practice is suitable for all levels. Please wear comfortable clothing, bring a mat and small pillow. Earn 50 Perkville points.
